CranioSacral Therapy

I offer CranioSacral Therapy for newborns, infants, and kids of all ages. Parents typically bring their newborns for a post-partum CranioSacral checkup within the first two weeks. I also work with infants and babies who have colic, digestive disturbances, torticollis, problems nursing or latching on, tongue ties, plagiocephaly, or developmental delays.

My work with older children includes those with chronic pain, developmental delays, autism/Asperger's, learning challenges, post-concussive syndromes, and more.

I am a member of the UCLA Children's Pain and Comfort Care Program, which offers a multi-disciplinary approach to pain and palliative care for children with chronic, life-limiting conditions.

CranioSacral Therapy and lymph drainage are great for kids of all ages who are susceptible to recurrent sinus or ear infections. Lymph drainage is also ideal for all school-age children who are exposed to other sick kids on a fairly regular basis. Lymph drainage helps boost the immune system and enhance the ability to ward off common colds, viruses, and the flu.

Sessions for babies and children are one-hour long.

Children and concussions

Much has been written in the news lately about the impact of head injuries, concussions, and traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) on children's learning and behavior.

Children with learning or behavioral challenges

In December 2012, the Alliance for Education, Development and Empowerment (AEDE) created a free teleseminar series for parents of children with communication, learning, and/or behavioral challenges and the professionals who support these families. Ten experts in the field of developmental disabilities shared their knowledge on variety of topics related to alternative and progessive treatment modalities, including CranioSacral Therapy.

After our appointment I nursed my baby. I actually think she is transferring milk. I am pretty sure she emptied both breasts, as I haven't pumped since and it's almost 9 p.m.!  I am so excited. Thank you very much."
—T.S., Los Angeles, on her newborn who was having feeding challenges

"Our son is doing really well, no symptoms of headaches, and having a fun high school life. Thank you again. We all know for a fact that CranioSacral Therapy was the most effective treatment for his concussion."J.M., Torrance

"My son seems to be a little better. He is absolutely
in love with you and keeps talking about you.
He said, 'She helped me. I'm happy you have a
friend like her.' You should see the sparkle in his eyes when he talks about you!"
—A.R., mother of a seven-year-old with
oppositional defiant disorder and impulsivity

"It really touched me how comfortable
[my son] felt with you. I am truly grateful
that our paths have crossed."
A.O., mother of a two-year-old with
sensory processing disorder

“Karen is an amazing CranioSacral therapist! We went to see her a few times for my toddler and she was so wonderful with him. He doesn't warm up to anybody . . . but my husband and I were amazed at how comfortable he was with her. She was very gentle with our son and you could tell he liked her presence. Karen is very knowledgeable and skilled regarding the field of CranioSacral therapy. She was able to educate us and answer all of our questions. If we weren’t moving, we’d definitely be continuing our services with her. I hope everyone who needs this type of therapeutic service contacts Karen. You will be pleased!”A.O.
